The basic idea is that all students begin the day “Ready to Learn”. Students move their clip up or down the chart based on my classroom/school expectations for behavior. At the bottom of each page, in their student planner, your student will fill in what color they were on the behavior clip chart. If there were any issues, I will include a little note next to their color for the day. You will find this clip chart color code on the front of their planner as well. Clip Chart Color Code: Purple= Super Student! Students who reached the purple level will be rewarded for their positive choices. Pink= Way to Go! Students who continue to make positive choices move up to the Pink level. They are on step closer to having outstanding classroom behavior! Blue= Excellent Effort Students who make positive choices will receive recognition as they move up the chart. Green= Ready to Learn Everyone starts the day “Ready to Learn”. Students can “move up” or “move down” throughout the day depending their behavior choices. Yellow= Make Better Choices Students who receive a warning will move to yellow. This services as a reminder for students to think about the choices they make. Orange= Teacher’s Choice Students, who continue to make poor choices, will move to orange. This will result in a consequence that is appropriate for the choice that was made. Different choices require different consequences. Children are different so consequences will vary depending on the child and the choices made. (Time out, loss of privilege, loss of recess, infraction, etc…) Red= Parent Contact Students who move to red will require parental contact by me. Parents will be contacted via telephone, email or note depending on the severity of the behavioral choice.
